The shrine is open throughout the year. March to October offers pleasant weather for the trek. Navratri (March-April and September-October) are peak seasons with special celebrations. Winters (November-February) are less crowded but colder.
The trek from Katra to the shrine is approximately 12 km one way. It takes 4-6 hours on foot depending on your pace. There are resting points at Ardhkuwari (6 km) and Sanjichhat. Pony, palki, and helicopter options are available for those who need them.
